Yellow Cab to help with crime tip number.

Frederick businesses Yellow Cab and Airport View Signs have donated ten “taxi tops” to help promote the police department’s anonymous crime tip phone number. The signs will be placed on top of the taxi cabs and rotated through the fleet during the course of the year.

Lieutenant Stephen Tuel stated, “The assistance of local businesses has been invaluable as we have distributed our tip line information throughout the City. The cooperation of citizens in getting these wanted persons off the street and into the criminal justice system has been outstanding. The citizens of Frederick understand how important this program is to the quality of life in our city. “

Since its inception in spring 2009, calls to the anonymous crime tip line have provided valuable information in solving crimes and apprehending wanted subjects. Tips may also be reported by text to 240-674-TIPS (8477) and by email to fpdcrimetip@frederickmdpolice.org.
