Shooting

On 03/01/09 at approximately 0430 hours, officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of Phebus Ave. Once on scene, they located a 38-year-old male lying near a service way inside the Lincoln Apts. Complex. The male had an obvious wound to his right leg and he was advising that he had just been shot. Witnesses reported that a black male with dreadlocks exited a small white vehicle near this service way and fired 4-5 rounds in the direction of the victim. The suspect returned to the vehicle and the car sped away. The victim was transported to Washington County Hospital by ambulance and his injury appears to be non-life threatening. The incident in under investigation by the Department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
