Destruction of property, Attempted 4th Deg. Burglary


Just after midnight officers responded to the 700 blk. of N. Market St. for a reported disorderly subject. The suspect was said to be actively attempting to kick down the front door of the building. Upon arrival the incoming units were advised by a caller that the suspect had just fled the scene in a dark colored “truck.” OFC. Pyon located the suspect vehicle in Mews alley with the lights “blacked out.” Upon OFC. Pyon’s approach the suspect sped off and a vehicular chase ensued. The chase went out of the city on Rt. #15 North. Units from the Maryland State Police and the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the pursuit. Stop Sticks were deployed just North of Blue Mountain Rd. on Rt. #15 North by the Sheriff’s Deputies bringing the pursuit to a safe end. The suspect Melvin Nehemias Alfaro is currently at Central Booking and will face multiple charges for Destruction of property, Attempted 4th Deg. Burglary and numerous traffic violations.
