She recently became the first bluegrass musician to receive the Berklee School of Music's prestigious Presidential Award scholarship, which entitles her to a "full ride" to the school, where she will start studying this fall. More about THE MACHINE

THE MACHINE, America’s premier Pink Floyd experience, has forged a 20 year reputation of excellence, extending the legacy of Pink Floyd, while creating a legacy all their own. Over the years, The Machine has touched the hearts and souls of many, selling out clubs and theatres across North America, Central America, Europe and the Middle East. They have also appeared at renowned music festivals such as Bonnaroo, Riverbend, and Rock of Ages in Stuttgart, Germany and continue to expand their fan base exponentially every year.

The New York based band focuses on making every show an authentic Floydian experience for their fans. The Machine’s stellar musicianship, dramatic lighting, multi-media accompaniments, and passionate delivery of inventive setlists sets them above and beyond the rest.

In the classic tradition, The Machine explores collective improvisation paralleling and even rivaling that of an early 1970’s Pink Floyd mentality. Their use of expanded theatrical elements and elaborate stage displays continues in the spirit of the later Floyd lineups of the1980’s. The band is also known for recreating entire albums as a part of their show, accepting requests from fans, and their newest A to Z approach in which one song is played for every letter of the alphabet. All in all, every step on the timeline can be traced at a Machine concert.

What’s in the Box on top of the Weinberg Center Marquee?

What’s in the Box on top of the Weinberg Center Marquee?

Everybody’s asking…what’s in the box that the Weinberg Center staff, along with the assistance of the Department of Public Works placed on top of the Center’s Marquee this morning? The answer is a prediction! A prediction that could get you a refund on your ticket purchase and a chance to see the show for FREE, that’s right FREE… Mike Super, here on October 16th, has made a public wager with the community that he will be able to accurately predict the headlines that will appear in the headlines the day of his show (October 16th.) To prove it, Mike pre-recorded the predictions and sent them (a month early) to the Weinberg Center in a sealed FedEx envelope.

This morning, the Honorable W. Jeff Holtzinger, Mayor of the City of Frederick locked the prediction in a Frederick News Post single news copy box and the box was hoisted up to the Marquee. The box has been secured with locks, chains, and weights! After the box was locked, the key was given to Jacquelyn Bello, Assistant Manager of the PNC’s Citizen Office in Downtown Frederick where Jacquelyn has placed the key in a safe-deposit box. The box will remain locked on top of the marquee until October 16th at 3 p.m. when the box is lowered and Mike Super will be on hand to prove whether or not he could predict the headlines—a month early! If Mike is wrong, he has made a promise to refund the price of each paid ticket that evening. The public is invited and encouraged to attend the big reveal of the headlines on October 16th at 3 p.m.

Don’t miss out on this challenge – buy your tickets early and guarantee that you have a chance at a refund if Mike is incorrect. You must have purchased a ticket to the show and tickets must be purchased by October 15 in order to be eligible for a refund. Prices range from $20 - $30 and kids under the age of 16 are only $12. Tickets are on sale now at the Center box office, by phone at 301-600-2828, or online at www.weinbergcenter.org. Share this memorable theatrical experience with your family and friends. Who knows… you could end up seeing the show for FREE!
