Strong Arm Robbery

INCIDENT/ INFORMATION: On Monday January 18, 2010 at approximately 2157 hours officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to the Hill Street Skate Park for the report of a strong arm robbery that had just occurred. As officers entered the skate park, several subjects fled the area. Officer Preece located one of the suspects in the park and was able to make contact with the victim, who remained in the area. The victim identified one individual who was apprehended in the Skate Park as one of the suspects who took his money. Two other individuals were apprehended in the surrounding area and were identified by the victim as other suspects.

Officers learned that the victim was walking through the Skate Park when he was approached by 5 males. The males asked the victim for a dollar. The victim produced a dollar and gave it to the suspects. The suspects then demanded more money and proceeded to grab the victim, going through his pockets. The suspects took additional money from the victim. The victim then called the police as the suspects walked away.

Three of the five suspects were apprehended. All of the subjects apprehended were juveniles. They were released to their parents after contacting DJS. The victim was not injured during the strong arm robbery.
