Drug Arrest

On 02/20/2008, at approximately 1555 hours, the Frederick Police Department’s Drug Enforcement Unit was conducting surveillance in the Sagner Housing Complex. During that time, an officer saw a male smoking what he believed to be suspected marijuana. Soon afterward, the male entered a vehicle and left the area.

While leaving the housing complex the driver committed a traffic offense and the vehicle was stopped. A K-9 sniff of the vehicle was conducted and a positive alert for drugs was observed. The male was arrested and identified as Bartz. Bartz was searched and officers recovered a PCP dipped cigarette.

Bartz was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center to appear before a District Court Commissioner.
