Stabbing on N. Market St.

On Saturday February 14, 2009 at approximately 1:30 am, officers were dispatched to the Olde Town Tavern for a report of disorderly persons fighting outside of the bar. Initial responding officers arrived to find that the altercation had broken up and the persons involved had left the area. A few minutes later, a group that had been involved at the fight outside of the Olde Town Tavern stopped OFC. Vincent Brown. One of the men in the group had been assaulted by two black males while the group was walking south on North Market St. The man sustained a laceration to his head and a stab wound to his back. The suspects were last seen fleeing the area south on N. Market St. The victim of the stabbing was transported to Frederick Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment. OFC. Brown radioed a description of the two black males involved in the assault, and OFC. Michael Conover located them on W. South St. near Ice St. When OFC. Conover stopped to talk with them, the both fled. OFC. Conover pursued the suspects to the area of W. South and McMurray streets were they ran through some backyards and a wooded lot. A search of the area where they were last seen by OFC. Conover was negative. The suspect believed to be the one who stabbed the victim is described as a black male approximately 5’7”, wearing a gray sweatshirt and a black knit Ravens hat.
