personal injury accident - update

Last week officers responded to the 100 block of Baughman’s Lane for a personal injury accident. They found that a collision occurred between a 2006 Honda Pilot and a person riding a skateboard. The person on the skateboard was an adult male, 26 YOA, and was he attempting to cross Baughman’s Lane. The driver of the SUV was traveling southbound and was initially in a line of traffic waiting to enter the left turn lane leading from Baughman’s Lane to RT 40. However, the adult male driver of the SUV, 50 YOA, decided to cross the center line into northbound traffic where the skateboarder was crossing. The person on the skateboard suffered a head injury from colliding with the right front portion of the SUV, and was flown by MSP helicopter to Baltimore Shock Trauma. He was in stable condition during the flight. The driver of the SUV was charged with Failure to drive right of center. No updates on the skateboarder’s condition at the time of this press release.

Update: The skateboarder involved in the accident on Baughman’s Lane yesterday was released from Shock Trauma at approximately 0200 this morning. He suffered a mild concussion and received some stitches to his head area. He was resting at home and is expected to fully recover.
