Shooting Arrest


On the above date at approximately 0200 hrs. Officers of the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division and CID apprehended the suspect in the earlier shooting incident. At Approximately 1851 hrs. Patrol Squad “D”, DEU and DPU responded to a shooting incident near E. Fifth St. and Laboring Sons Alley in Frederick. During the investigation it was determined that a vehicle had been struck by gunfire; no one was injured during the incident. Extensive investigation revealed that the arrestee was in Laboring Sons Alley and fired at a passing vehicle occupied by a male subject on East Street. The vehicle was later located North of the crime scene with disabling damage. It was seized as evidence and removed from the area. The suspect was identified and further investigation uncovered his whereabouts leading to his arrest without further incident.

UPDATE: The suspect, Nicholas Lane (photo right), was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Wearing and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon. At the time of this release, Lane was awaiting an appearance before the District Court Commissioner.
