The Citizens Police Academy

The Frederick Police Department is pleased to announce it will be conducting the 17th Citizen Police Academy (CPA) starting in August of 2009.The Citizens Police Academy is a 10-week program designed to give interested citizens an overview of the many functions of their police department. Classes will meet every Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. starting August 19th and running thru October 21st, 2009. There will be a final practical exercise / graduation day on Saturday October 24th, 2009.

Upon completion of the program, participants will not be sworn police officers, nor be expected to perform any law enforcement functions; they will, however, have a greater understanding of what the Frederick Police Department does and how we can work together to make Frederick an even better community for everyone.

The CPA is a free of charge program open to any resident of the City of Frederick, or person with business interest in the city, who is 18-years or older, and has no serious criminal history.

For an enrollment form or for more information, please contact A/Cpl. Jay Brown at 301-600-3914 or at jbrown3@fredco-md.net
