Attempted Abduction

On today’s date, 11-18-08, OFC Hanner and other officers with the Frederick Police Department’s Patrol Division received a call concerning an attempted abduction of a 12-year old female from the area of the 200 block of Broadway in Frederick. The girl was returning home from school when a white male pulled along side of her in a small white pick up truck with dark tinted windows. He asked her to get in, but she refused and walked away. The male then parked and approached her and grabbed her by the arm and tried to pull her into the truck. The victim was able to hit him and escape, at which time the suspect got back into the truck and drove away.

The male was described as an older white male (50 to 60) wearing khaki pants and a black jacket and black ball cap. The victim also advised he had a gray mustache and gray hair, and he had yellowing teeth. Officers were in the area within minutes and were unable to locate the vehicle. The Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is assisting in the investigation. Anyone with any information regarding this investigation are asked to contact OFC Hanner at 301-600-1273.
