Ofc. McPeak contacted the arrestee, who he identified as James Christopher Joyce. Joyce was standing outside of his residence. Ofc. McPeak’s investigation revealed that there has been an ongoing dispute between Joyce and his neighbor over noise. Joyce allowed the Officers inside his residence to retrieve a shotgun.
Ofc. McPeak also spoke with the victim, who alleged that Joyce had pointed the shotgun out the front door at him. Information provided by additional witness supported this claim.
Ofc. McPeak arrested Joyce and confiscated the shotgun. Joyce is currently at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center awaiting a bond review by a District Court Commissioner. He has been charged with the offenses listed below.
Assault—1st degree
Assault—2nd degree
Reckless endangerment
