Cab Driver Homicide Suspect Charged

Homicide detectives with the Baltimore Police Department have obtained an arrest warrant for the person wanted in connection with the January 26th homicide of Yellow Cab of Frederick driver Stephen Mauk. Robert Lee Murphy, age 22, of Baltimore has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and handgun charges.

Murphy is in custody at the Howard County jail on an unrelated gun charge. Frederick police also charged Murphy in February for an armed carjacking that occurred on January 18, 2009 near Fieldpointe Apartments.

Robert Lee Murphy is charged with:

1) 1st Degree Murder

2) 2nd Degree Murder

3) 1st Degree Assault

4) 2nd Degree Assault

5) Use of a Handgun in the Commission of a Crime of Violence

6) Handgun on Person
