Assault Arrest

On 04/05/2009, at approximately 0008 hours, a large group was observed on Waterside Dr in the area of Garden Ln in Wormans Mill. Two males were observed physically fighting in the street, at which time OFC Vincent Brown intervened to end the altercation.

After separating the individuals, OFC Brown attempted to arrest one of the males, identified as Chad Free Lawson 03/29/1991. As OFC Brown took physical control of Lawson, Lawson pulled away, turned, and swung at OFC Brown with a closed fist grazing his face. Lawson then ran a short distance and turned shouting obscenities at OFC Brown. OFC Brown pursued and was able to take Lawson into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Lawson was taken to Central Booking for processing and to be seen by the District Court Commissioner.
