Attempted Armed Robbery

On April 2, 2009 at 9:54 pm, officers of the Frederick Police Department responded to a report of an attempted armed robbery in the area of Elmwood Terrace Apartments located at 90 Waverley Dr.

Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim, who advised he was approached by two males in the stairwell of Building GG. According to the victim, the men blocked his passage and attempted to grab his wallet. One of the males displayed a black semi-automatic handgun. The victim began to yell and the suspects fled on foot. They were last seen running south on Waverley Dr. The victim was not physically injured and no property was taken. The males were described as follows:

#1 Black male, approx. 6-00, with a thin build, wearing a black shirt and blue jeans

#2 White male, who was shorter than the black male, wearing a white t-shirt

  • Both were described as being approximately 20 years of age
An extensive search of the area was conducted, but the suspects were not located. Police are investigating if there is a connection between recent robberies on Redfield Ct. and Willowdale Dr.
