Bomb Threat

Today at approximately 1330 hrs. Officers from the Frederick Police Department responded to a bomb threat at Medimmune at 633 Research Ct., Frederick, MD. The incident was related to a handwritten threat found in an outbuilding at the construction site. The threat indicated that a bomb would explode on 04-22-09. No suspects were immediately identified and an investigation into the matter began. Frederick Police Patrol Division Officers and CID coordinated with multiple Federal, State and Municipal law enforcement agencies to conduct and in-depth investigation and search of the building. K9 units from the Maryland State Police, Montgomery County Police, State Fire marshals’ Office and NSA Police responded to the location and scanned the building using bomb detection dogs. The FBI was also present to assist with the investigation. No explosives of any type were located during an intensive search of the building and surrounding area. The continuing investigation will be conducted by the Frederick Police CID and the FBI.
