Suspicious person

On the above date and time the Frederick Police Department received a call in reference to a suspicious person. The caller advised they were operating their vehicle in the area of N Jefferson St and Carrol Parkway. The caller advised they saw an individual carrying either a rifle or shotgun. The individual was described as a white male, in his middle thirties, with brown hair, thin build, wearing a baseball cap, checkered shirt with blue vest over it, blue jeans, and boots. This individual was also carrying a brown paper bag with unknown contents. The caller advised they saw this individual carrying the gun while walking onto the grounds of Parkway Elementary School. Apparently there were numerous children in the area, as well as teachers and parents picking up their children. Numerous officers from several units of the Frederick Police Department responded. An extensive canvass was completed, and members of the Community Services Division coordinated with surrounding schools to keep them thoroughly informed. Several schools decided to conduct a lockdown pending further information. The responding units were unable to locate anyone matching the description provided by the caller. Additionally, the Frederick Police Department received no other calls in reference to this individual. All schools on lockdown then returned to normal operating procedure.
