Motor Vehicle Accident - Pedestrian struck

On 04-28-09, at approximately 0856 hours, Frederick Police officers responded to a reported accident involving a pedestrian being struck by a dump truck, in the area of Opossumtown Pike and Thomas Johnson Drive. Upon arrival, Officers found EMS personnel treating a 70-year old male with head injuries. He was conscious at that time, and was transported by MD State Police helicopter to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. At the time of this press release, the male was listed in serious but stable condition. His identity will NOT be released, pending notification of next of kin.

The driver was identified (below) and found to be suspended. He was arrested and initially charged with the below motor vehicle charges.

The final outcome of the investigation has not been determined, pending a full accident reconstruction. Other charges could be pending after the investigation is completed.
