First Degree Assault

On today’s date, 04-30-09, members of the Frederick Police Department were alerted to a possible assault in the area of N. Market St. and 3rd St. Witnesses advised police that a subject, later identified as Myers, was chasing another male with a knife down N. Market St. from 3rd St. Sgt. Trapp arrived in the area and observed Myers chasing another male down the street with a knife. Sgt. Trapp was able to contact Myers as the victim was able to flee to safety. Ofc. Alcorn, who also arrived in the area, made contact with the victim. After speaking to several witnesses, and hearing what Myers and the victim stated regarding the incident, it was determined that Myers had attempted to stab the victim, who was an acquaintance of the Myers. This incident was a by-product of an earlier quarrel several weeks prior. Myers continued to threaten the victim even after being in police custody. The victim was not injured due to the quick response of witnesses calling police and police being in the area quickly. Mr. Myers was transported to Central Booking and was held on $75,000 bond.
